I've been working with SLMM, the Society of Layerists in Multi Media, and I'm excited to share that I just sent my work to the talented Judie Bodic in Texas! This opportunity has been thrilling, connecting me with a vibrant community of creators who share my passion for multi-media art. Preparing my submission has been challenging yet rewarding, pushing me to explore new techniques and ideas.
The project involves creating an original 6" square collage that reflects my unique artistic vision, using my choice of style and materials. This freedom allows for diverse expressions, making each collage a personal statement of creativity.

I used pieces of a cut-up watercolor that my son, who will be 3 in April, helped create. We do this often, so I have many saved to share with him later. You'll also find pieces from a failed poster print here at the gallery. I also sent some original drawings. I've drawn this little guy many times and still have many versions of him.
I'm eager to experiment with various textures and colors. Additionally, I'll receive a curated selection of collage materials from another member of the society, challenging me to create a second 6" collage. This exchange fosters collaboration and encourages us to embrace new ideas from fellow artists. I'm thrilled to get my package from Nancy Egol Nikkal this week and can't wait to see what intriguing materials she has chosen for me. This collaborative aspect promotes a sense of community and shared creativity among artists.
